eVideon announced a strategic alliance with E Ink Holdings to provide hospitals with energy-efficient ePaper whiteboards and digital patient door displays.

The companies says that the ePaper displays do not emit any unwated blue light, and will be particularly beneficial for patients who prefer sleeping in a dark environment. These displays can be powered by batteries or by power over Ethernet and so can be easy to install and maintain.

Electrochromics display developer Ynvisible announced that it has entered into a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Sweden's RISE research institutes. Ynvisible will have access to RISE's printed electrochromic displays IP which will enable Ynvisible to complement and expand its product offering.

Ynvisible aims to adopt RISE's technology into its high-volume production capability in Sweden. The new technologies will enable Ynvisible to offer displays that directly compete traditional segmented displays such as LCDs.

E Ink Holdings' CEO says that the company's color e-paper production lines are now running in full capacity. The company is increasing its color ePaper display capacity and will increase it by 10-fold before the end of 2020.

EIH says that in 2020 its color e-Paper products will account for 10% of its revenues.

E Ink Holdings has unveiled a new 10.3" foldable ePaper display. The company is working on foldable displays for a long time, and according to the CEO, "the crease issue on foldable display is improving".

E Ink Holdings announced that China-based Yiwu Qing Yue Optoelectronics has become a member of its ePaper ecosystem partnership. EIH says that Yiwu Qing Yue will be one of the main suppliers of Electronic Shelf Labels (ESL) modules to the retail market.

Yiwu Qing Tue will assemble ESL modules based on E Ink displays. EIH hopes the company will be able to increase its penetration into the Chinese markets.

EPD solution provider Netronix announced that it has received major orders for E Ink name badges from a medical testing equipment company in the US, with shipments to start in Q3 2020.

Netronix also reports that interest in its e-Notebook products have increased, while demand for electronic baggage tags is much lower due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is also active with electronic shelf labels, large-area ePaper signage and e-readers (the company will ramp up its 6-inch color E Ink e-readers and name tags in Q3 2020).
