Small luxury hotel group Familux has installed over 150 E Ink displays at its four resorts, using the displays for several applications. One application is the Program Wall, which uses 18 screens to show guests the day's event, QD codes to sign up and more.
Visionect provided the screens and system to Familux, while MIndstream provided the programming and data management services.
E Ink solution developer Visionect announced a new 32-inch edition of its popular corporate environment signage display, the Joan 32. This is an installation-free wireless device that is ideal to show company KPIs and corporate communications.
The Joan 32 uses a 31.2-inch 2560x1440 E Ink display with 16 grayscale levels and a refresh rate of 750 ms. It offers Wi-Fi connectivity and runs from a rechargeable battery.
Visionect announced that it updated its Joan E Ink meeting room signage displays with new software and a revamped product lineup.
Visionect currently offers two hardware platforms, based on 6" (Joan 6) and 13.3" (Joan 13) E Ink panels. Visionect also reveals that Joan was adopted by Cisco, Amazon and Virgin. You can find out more about the Joan platform here.
Visionect and Radiola Land have installed E Ink signage at Auckland Airport's public transport terminal.
Each sign includes two 13.3" E Ink screens to provide Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) to commuters. The signs display important travel information, bus locations and marketing messages.
Ford launched a City Of Tomorrow challenge in Miami-Date County, Florida - with a goal to improve mobility in the city. One of the two winners was Soofa - with its solar-powered benches and information display signs. Sofa was awarded with $50,000 and will deploy its signs in up to three neighborhoods in the county.
Soofa uses 32" E Ink displays (and a system developed by Visionect) to show bus and train arrival times, alternative modes of transportation available and also local events and activities.

Visionect has joined forces with Framery to bring Joan, the E Ink meeting room and office spaces digital display solution, to Framery's soundproof private spaces.
The Joan devices help Framery to provide a more streamlined way of using its private spaces. Framery customers can now customize their new workplace with the Joan digital display as an optional extra.
Visionect's E Ink based Joan meeting scheduling solution is a very successful product, but it's relatively expensive - starting at â¬449 for the basic 6" model.
Visionect launched a new payment system, which they call Joan Universal. In this version, Joan costs only â¬199 - but with a monthly subscription fee of â¬19.95. You can pay for only the months you need the device (the data will be retained in the months you do not pay), so this new fee structure could be attractive.
Visionect announced a new project in Sydney, to install digital bus stops around the Town Hall, designed and developed Mercury Innovation in collaboration with Visionect. The digital stops provide real-time bus arrivals, as well as capacity information, service notifications and any other relevant commuter information right at the stop.
The new bus stops displays are based on E Ink panels and are powered by solar power. This is Visionect and Mercury's second project, following the 2016 installation of solar powered e-paper traffic signs in Sydney.
