New e-paper device:Timex Ironman ONE GPS+

Timex's Ironman ONE GPS+ is a fitness smartwatch that does not need to pair to a smartphone - it's a 3G connected device by itself and can connect to Timex's fitness web site to upload your data and share with contacts. It also has a messaging applications, music player and GPS. The display is 1.5" color Mirasol display (Qualcomm also provides the chipset and Brew platform for this device).

The Ironman ONE costs $399 or $450 with a heart sensor.

New e-paper device:Tomoon T-Fire

Tomoon Technologoy's T-Fire is an Android (v4.3) based smartwatch that uses a 1.73" 320x240 curved E Ink display. Other features include a 1Ghz CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4GB flash memory and sensors (gyroscope, compass and gravity.

The T-Fire should launch towards the end of December 2013 in China. The company says they got almost 20,000 pre-orders already, and they are also working on an iOS compatible model.

New e-paper device:Seiko Spirit SBPA003

Seiko's SBPA003 is their 2nd-gen E Ink watch (here's the first one from 2010). The display is an active-matrix E Ink, 1.5" in size (300 PPI). Seiko says it's got a new active-matrix drivers that enable it to be very power efficient. The watch recharges via a small solar-panel (which is located around the display). The watch synchronizes automatically via signals from atomic clocks, but these aren't available in all places.

The SBPA003 ships in Japan for around $600.

New e-paper device:Allerta Pebble

Allerta's Pebble is a smartwatch that can connect to iOS or Android devices. The watch has a 144-168 active-matrix E Ink display. The phone includes a vibrating motor, four buttons, a 3-axis accelerometer and Bluetooth.

The Pebble was funded via Kickstart and raised over $10 million. They will start shipping 85,000 watches on Janaury 23rd for KickStarter pre-orders. It will later be available to buy for $150.
