BMW unveiled its fourth car concept that utilizes external E Ink panels, the BMW iX3 Flow Edition.
The car's front hood is covered with E Ink Prism panels, to dynamically change color. But unlike the company's previous concept cars, this one is closer to production. The company says that The iX3 Flow Edition passed BMW's stringent quality tests, meeting automotive engineering and daily use requirements.
Back in 2024, BMW unveiled its BMW i5 Flow NOSTOKANA concept, covered with E Ink Prism 3 panels - and which pays a tribute to the 1991 Esther Mahlangu Art Car. This followed the 2022 The BMW iX Flow that used monochrome panels, and the 2023 BMW i Vision Dee used 240 segments of color E Ink Prism 3 panels.
