Atmosic developed an E Ink "e-badge" reference design

Low-power IoT Bluetooth technology developer Atmosic announced that it has developed a reference design for eBadge applications in collaboration with E Ink Holdings.

Atmosic will offer the power-optimized eBadge reference design, featuring one of E Ink’s 2.9” or 3.7” black and white displays, or 4.1” Gallery Palette color displays. The kit utilizes Atmosic’s M series extreme low-power Bluetooth LE platform, enabling long, multiyear battery life which can be extended by using optional on-chip energy harvesting.

ePaper display provider DKE invests in Plastic Logic to access its OTFT E Ink displays

Flexible OTFT E Ink display designer and producer Plastic Logic announced a "significant investment" in its business from China-based e-paper display maker DKE Displays.

DKE currently produced specialized ePaper displays for applications such as electronic shelf labels (ESLs), smart cards, internet of things and smart clothing. Access to Plastic Logic's OTFT based displays will enable the company to integrate rugged, lightweight and flexible products for its target markets (mostly wearables).

Abu Dhabi's department of transport installed 175 E Ink bus stop displays

The Department of Transport Abu Dhabi (DoT) has installed 175 solar powered e-paper passenger information screens at bus stops across Abu Dhabi, following a successful proof of concept pilot in 2019.

The system was designed by Papercast, who says that the project includes 100 13-inch E Ink displays and 75 13-inch double E Ink displays powered by 20W solar modules.
